The Name Plate

19th October 2008. HMS Exeter freedom of the City. The crew of 82 travel to Exeter for the freedom of the City Parade. Double H and Slops with Partners represent the crew of 82. The Exeter name plate is handed over to the city. A day to reflect. We appreciate Slops and Double H taking the time to attend at short notice.

2008 so Far

2009 the Big Push

2008 Reunion. In late May was a great success. It was up in Sunny Newcastle. The event attracted several (NEW) old faces including Tug Wilson, Stan Abbey, Knocker White (TAS) and Nick Nicholson. What a great time with many of the regulars in attendance. Slops and Tex produced the infamous gnome. Yes, it's still around. For copies of the PowerPoint Slide show please go to the forum and follow the link. You need to Register

Sea Day. What a great experience. The last chance to leave Pompey and head out to sea on the old Girl. I have to say when we got picked up at Portland that last glance back from the liberty boat brought a tear to every ones eyes. 26 years on the bond was still strong. Operation Tracker. We are hoping to have one of the biggest turnouts in 2009. This is the year when Exeter eventually retires. We would like to make this an event to remembers. Please register on the forum at http://hmsexeter.freeforums.org . If you know of anyone who served on the Exeter even outside of the crew of 82 who would also be interested please let us know. Who to Call

In all cases please go via the Forum. This will be the most up to date method of getting in touch with others and hearing about events. When events are known they will be posted on the forum for all registered member to see. If you are not registered you will not get to know about them. So please register NOW. You will still be contacted and chased by the usual shipmates. If you know "Reg" you will know he is a man on a mission and with new guys coming on board all the time we should be able to spread our wings that little bit further. "Dougie" deserves a mention here as he also managed to spread his contact web and pull in some of the old 82 crew.
